Alessandra Sanguinetti
Alessandra Sanguinetti
Alessandra Sanguinetti is a New York based photographer that has spent much of her career photographing the farming communities of the fertile Argentinian Pampas.
“On the Sixth Day” depicts the animals-humans relationships on a farm in the Pampas by presenting photos of the farmers, their animals, and their land.
These two children are one of the families that lived and worked on the farm. Throughout the 5 years of photo-shooting, Sanguinetti sought to portray the psychological and physical transformations of them as they matured into adults.
These pictures from the adventures of guille & belinda inspires me because they have textures and colours that I like. Also, the picture below fascinates me because it makes me imagine what their future would be like -how this farming environment affects the future of the children.
“In the rural farmland of Argentina, this relationship is part of everyday life... Small and open land farming, unlike intensive and factory farming, has resulted in a language of traditions that persist over the years, where the cycle of life and death is present every day, from dawn to dust.” -Sanguinetti
