Composition
The Golden Section
This can be used as a method for placing the subject in an image or of dividing a composition into pleasing proportions. It is based on the "Golden Number", which is a mathematical sequence of numbers discovered by Leonardo Pisano (Leonardo of Pisa).

The Rule of Thirds
This is a way that divide the frame into thirds from top to bottom and from left to right. The focus of interest must be placed at the intersection of these lines. It is a commonly used composition method among photographers.

Dynamic Symmetry
This is an another way of creating the focus of an image. Although it is based on the Golden Ratio, it uses diagonal lines rather than a grid to establish the most pleasing place for the point of interest.
